The short version
The version checker runs entirely in your browser. The text you paste is never transmitted to this site or to anyone else — there is no server-side code on this page that receives it. This site does not ask for an account, an email address, or any personal information to use the tools.
What is collected automatically
Like almost every website, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request data to deliver pages and protect the service: IP address, requested URL, referrer, user agent, and timestamp. This is used for security, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic measurement. Server logs are retained for a short period and are not used to build profiles of individual visitors.
If analytics are enabled in future, this page will be updated before that happens and the analytics will be configured to avoid collecting personal information where the provider supports it.
Advertising
This site may display advertising served by Google AdSense. When advertising is active:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to visitors based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Visitors may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are shown a consent notice before any non-essential cookies are set, as required by local law.
Advertising is clearly separated from editorial content. Advertisers have no influence over what this site says, and no advertiser has reviewed or approved any page here.
Affiliate links and commercial interest
Some outbound links may be affiliate links, and this site is run by a consultancy that sells incident-response and web-security work. Where that is the case, the link or the call-to-action says so. Recommendations are made on technical grounds; if a product is not relevant to the problem, it is not linked.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Cookies may be set by advertising or analytics providers as described above, and by Cloudflare for security purposes. You can block or delete cookies in your browser without losing access to any content or tool here — the version checker does not use them.
If you email an address on this site, your message and address are kept only as long as needed to answer you. They are not added to a mailing list and are not sold or shared.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain processing. Write to hello@phphackfix.com and the request will be answered within the period required by applicable law.
Children
This site is aimed at people running websites and is not directed at children. No personal information is knowingly collected from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes — for example enabling advertising or analytics — will be noted on the page before the change takes effect.
